I am now an atheist. I accept that many people want and need to believe in a god, but personally I don't.

Be careful what you teach your children......Tact is a good lesson also!!!!
by Gill init's good to train a child when they're young to have diverse ideas, opinions and understandings.
it is the total opposite of what the wtbts wants from their children.
they want their children to be taught that only the wtbts is correct and everything they utter, even if total bs, is not to be questioned.. in the last four to five years i have read so much on history, prehistory, geology, religion blah de blah de blah, and in that reading i have also been non stop telling my husband and children every thing i have read and every diverse theory i have come across, so that in effect, they also have become widely read on the subject.. my youngest child goes to a church of england school, even though we are non religious and i have put that down clearly on her information form.

Good for your daughter and for you, Gill!!
You've obviously been building with fire resistant materials for your daughter to give such a fine witness. Keep up the good work.
Give her a pat on the back from me. -

Don't panic!
If they're good little publishers, you'll be noted as a "not at home" and they'll just call again.
If they're the run-of-the-mill JW, they'll still note you as "NH" but won't bother to call back. -

Oh Wendy, I'm sorry.
It's a cruel thing.
We've lost a number of family members and friends to cancer so we can empathise.
Just take care and allow yourself to have a cry.
Here's a ton of hugs and loads of love ((((((((Wendy and Friend)))))))))

Just the odd glance in my 'just out of the org' days, then when I realized the demons weren't going to make my kids' heads rotate 360' I started reading most days just before bed.
Now I can post, I check in whenever I sit down with a cup of tea and have PC access. It is quite addictive. -

Has technology helped your marriage
by KAYTEE inhas technology helped your marriage, for instant instead of the newspaper stuck between you and the wife at breakfast, it is now the computer thus allowing "cross" communication between you both, and what about the television zappa who is in charge of that, obviously the man of the house, thus saving much time and effort for the poor wife who had to keep getting up to change channels.
the dishwasher machine has now taken over in the kitchen, where once you would do this chore happily together???.
what more !!

Kaytee,
You tell us this about your wife's cooking AFTER inviting us for lunch!!???
The Internet actually helps our marriage as we research things (apostate stuff etc.) together.
It helped me leave JW land along with Mr DNC, thereby saving the relationship.
The TV zapper ALWAYS gets lost down the side of a chair and causes arguments about who had it last.
The Playstation keeps the kids happy while we 'talk'.
Hubby always had something important to do while I did the dishes anyway, so I love my dishwasher! -

True story or JW Folklore?
by Do Not Call ina few years back, i was told a story by a 'mature sister' about a man who was df'ed after his death, just before his burial.
apparently, they found voodoo related necklaces etc.
under his clothing.

Undercover, that was really funny.
Don't be embarrassed; I used to lose sleep, as a child, over which cuddly toy to grab when the tribulation started so I could at least save one of my furry, inanimate friends and take him to Paradise!
We need the therapy that is JWD. -

Some of these sound familiar. Hadn't heard of the compromising couple, though!
Wasn't there a 'sister' who hid banned literature in her oven? Like on the checkpoints, the guards never found it because Jehovah was protecting his people!!
(Or were the guards all men? You know men stare into the cupboard unable to see the item they're looking for!
"Darling, did you forget to buy butter this week?" He asks whilst staring at 4 tubs of the stuff!)
Only joking, men friends! -

Do JWs suffer from foot and mouth
by KAYTEE indo jws suffer from foot and mouth?
the reason i ask this, is whenever i see them in the street, they seem to have lost the ability to speak and immediately look down at some problem they are having with their feet.
has anyone else noticed this, is it a medical problem and whats more, can it cured?.

This is definitely a problem I have noticed.
Another symptom of this is a grave expression and a speeded up walk. -

A few years back, I was told a story by a 'mature sister' about a man who was DF'ed after his death, just before his burial.
Apparently, they found Voodoo related necklaces etc. under his clothing. (Not sure which country, but obviously somewhere where Voodoo is a regular practice.)
Anyway, the story was a 'fine example of how Jehovah reveals matters'. The sister who told me thought it was quite funny, but I thought it was sickening. (If true!)
If DFing is to bring the errant one back from his evil ways and to keep the cong. clean, what is the point of DFing a deceased man?
Like I said, I don't know if this is one of those Tall Truthy Tales. I sincerely hope it is, but you never know, do you?
Anyone else heard this gem, or a similar version?
